I found some of these on Ebay. They were actually listed in the "diamond" category. Some of the prices were as high as a genuine diamond.
The title said "diamond." It was in the wrong category, and it only mentioned that it was lab created way down on the crowded page. Not just one seller, either. One small word, fancy auction page, and they can't put the item in the lab created section, and provide the words "lab Created" in the title. It's so difficult!

You're already smarter than the manager of that store, elvenjewel! Going in and asking for a green garnet will likely get you told they don't come in that color, and don't ask for anything but the usual birth stones they sell because they seldom know what you're talking about. Pathetic, isn't it?!
Next time you go in recommend the ISG to him. ![]()

The funny thing is, I know a jewelry store manager I trust implicitly about things like that. She doesn't have any "official" qualifications that I know of -- just 20 years in the business. That's good enough for me. ![]() |

I send an email to the lab that did a report on the Diamond Nexus product and they confirmed their findings. Charles Anderson Ph.D. sent me an email on January 2, 2008 which said:
"We did analyze a Diamond Nexus diamond simulant and found it to be yttrium oxide stabilized cubic Zirconia, or standard CZ. The link you gave in your note did not lead me to a copy of our report, but the attached file was a copy of our report. The carbon appears to be the usual carbon due to air-adsorbed hydrocarbons, surface-segregated carbon, or organic material rubbed onto a surface. No beneficial properties are to be expected of such carbon" Click to see full report and summary of internet commentary on Diamond Nexus Labs. |
